Integrated Surf Platform

IPS (Integrated Surf Platform): ISP is a specialized electronic system developed by Malibu Boats engineers to control the boat and its various options and settings. This system enables customization of the boat's wave using four main technologies:

  1. Malibu’s Command Center: The boat's control panel.

  2. SurfGate by Malibu: A blade system at the boat's stern that adjusts the yaw.

  3. Power Wedge III: A hydrofoil for adjusting the boat's pitch, speeding up planing, and optimizing engine power usage during towing or enhancing the wave.

  4. Hard Tank Ballast: A ballast system comprising rigid tanks.

Below, we'll delve a bit deeper into each system.

Malibu’s Command Center

The Command Center of Malibu boats comprises two touchscreen monitors. Its primary functions include managing the Power Wedge III, Surf Gate, navigation, ballast system control, and displaying vital boat metrics. All information is presented on high-resolution monitors, sized at 12” and 7”, allowing the boat's pilot to adjust settings and waves with a single touch.

The Control Panel can be enhanced with the following features:

Command Wheel: A multi-function steering wheel equipped with speed controls, Power Wedge III positioning, wave adjustments, and audio system controls. It was the winner of the "Innovation of the Year 2017" award.

Sport Dash: A joystick located on the pilot's panel for swift configuration of all surf systems with a single motion of the hand.

Surf Band Remote: A surfer's bracelet enabling riders to participate in boat control. The bracelet offers wave customization in three dimensions and speaker sound power adjustment on the tower.

Wireless Charging: A wireless smartphone charging system.

SurfGate Technology

Malibu Boats' SurfGate technology represents a significant leap in the world of watersports. It's a cutting-edge system designed to create the ideal wave for surfers. Using specially crafted plates on the boat's hull, SurfGate can dynamically adjust the shape, size, and strength of the surf wave. By manipulating these plates, the boat's hull redirects water energy, generating a surfable wave on one side of the boat.

What sets SurfGate apart is its real-time adaptability. Surfers can fine-tune the wave instantly, tailoring it to their skill level and preferences. Whether you're a beginner seeking a gentle ride or an advanced surfer craving a challenging wave, SurfGate ensures an unmatched surfing adventure.

This technology revolutionizes the surfing experience, offering surfers the freedom to customize their waves like never before. With Malibu Boats' SurfGate, the future of surfing is here, promising thrilling, personalized rides for water sports enthusiasts of all levels.

Power Wedge III

Introduced in 2019, the upgraded Power Wedge III by Malibu Boats redefines hydrofoil technology. It offers an additional 5º of working range, allowing for finer adjustments to the boat's wave and pitch. This enhanced flexibility ensures a more precise customization of the boat's wake.

The Power Wedge III plays a pivotal role in speeding up planing, optimizing engine power during towing, and conserving fuel. It acts as a virtual trim tab, effectively adjusting the boat's running attitude for optimal performance in various water conditions.

One of its remarkable features is its ability to simulate the effect of an additional ballast of over 1500 lbs (680 kg). This extra "weight" significantly enhances the wave, creating a surf or wakeboarding experience that feels naturally enhanced, even without additional physical ballast.

With the Power Wedge III, Malibu Boats continues to innovate, providing water sports enthusiasts with a tool that not only refines the riding experience but also maximizes efficiency and power utilization on the water.

Hard Tank Ballast

The Hard Tank Ballast system in Malibu Boats represents a sophisticated water displacement technology designed to enhance the boat's performance on the water. This system is meticulously engineered for optimal water intake and drainage, significantly increasing the boat's displacement.

Comprising rigid tanks, the Hard Tank Ballast system can accommodate weights exceeding 5000 lbs (2260 kg). This substantial weight, strategically distributed within the boat's hull, plays a crucial role in shaping the waves generated behind the boat. The system's blend of form and volume allows for the creation of the perfect wave trail for water sports enthusiasts.

Malibu boats are equipped with high-speed Jabco pumps that can fill these tanks with thousands of liters of water within a minute, ensuring rapid adjustments and minimizing downtime during your water adventures. Additionally, the system offers the flexibility of installing additional tanks through the Plug ‘n Play option, allowing for further customization of the boat's ballast configuration.

Malibu GX Tower 2019

The 2019 Malibu GX Tower represents a significant advancement in tower technology. Replacing the G4 model, this tower is equipped with an electric drive system, streamlining the process of raising or lowering the tower regardless of the attached accessories. Remarkably, it takes just 9 seconds to deploy or stow the structure, enhancing the overall convenience and efficiency of the boat setup.
